Terracotta Garden at Lamphun

The Terracotta Garden at Lamphun, located just south of Chiang Mai in the quiet neighboring province, is a mystical open-air museum, workshop, and café set within a sprawling, jungle-like property. Owned by the prominent Maiwan artisan family, this unique site serves as both a working pottery factory and a stunning display ground for thousands of handcrafted terracotta statues, towering bas-relief panels, and a picturesque Khmer-inspired stupa situated by a central lily pond. Wandering through the moss-draped paths feels like exploring a lost ancient city, where visitors can marvel at the warm, earthy tones of traditional clay art spanning various Asian cultures, watch craftsmen at work near the historic thirty-meter kilns, or simply relax with a coffee and local Northern Thai dishes surrounded by nature.
